How does it work?
Just follow the prompts: select a venue, check in on Facebook or your favourite social app at that venue before reaching this screen below: Bar staff then press the orange “Verify" button and provide your beer! Make sure you don’t press the button by mistake! Bar staff only!
How do I let you know I’m having a problem with the app?
If something isn’t working then we would love to hear about it. Every new revision of the app is extensively tested but if there are specific phones that are having trouble then knowing about it will help us.
Go to settings
Tap “Contact First Beer Club”
Write your message and press send. This will send an email to us, which we will always aim to answer within 5 working days.
In your email tell us:
Where you are
What kind of phone you have (Model and operating system if possible!)
What you wanted to do with the app
What actually happened
What you think the problem might be
Frequently asked questions
What other offers are there? After a free beer has been redeemed, typically we receive 10% off of subsequent beers and food to encourage us to stay . Below is a normal “Offer Screen” however different venues have different offers.
What if I’m intoxicated? Standard rules apply! Get a ride home and sleep it off! No beer for you! Don’t drive!
What if there are too many customers at the bar? Don’t worry! We will do our best to indicate that on the app so that you can go somewhere nearby!
What kind of beer? Any normal tap beer. If the bar has beers that are more than 20% higher than the normal tap beer price they are excluded (or you could be offered a smaller serving).
Can I get wine instead? Members can be served with a glass of house wine if they want that instead of beer.
What about cider? Depending on cost and availability on tap, this is at the venue’s discretion.
What do I do if there is a problem with the app? Get in touch with us. You can do that via the website, or via email on connect@thefirstbeerclub.com. You can even contact us through the app itself.
What if I accidentally press the redeem button? No beer for you! Instead get in contact with us and we will see if we can help. You can still purchase a beer!
What if I have accidentally pressed the redeem button for a different venue? As with any accident, no beer today! Then get in touch with us. You can purchase a beer as normal!
How does one of my mates get to be a member? We’d love to have them as a member! Just get them to go to https://thefirstbeerclub.com/ and register!.
Do beers accumulate if I don’t use them on the day?
No, the idea is that you have the option and a great reason to go to a pub any day.
Why do I have to check in or share every time I get a beer?
It’s because we support good, local pubs and breweries. We want to help out these brilliant small business owners by spreading the word, and the fastest way to do that is a check in. It’s easy and it potentially will draw a few more of your mates out of hiding to have a beer with you, which is always a good thing.
Can I have more than one membership?
No sorry! One membership per person.
